About United LEI
LEI, INC (LEI number 984500FELECM64Z8T952), registered in the United States of America operates in the United Kingdom under the brand name United LEI.
LEI, INC is an American data processing company that specializes in processing and disseminating information in connection with LEI (Legal Entity Identifier) registrations on behalf of companies or legal entities. Global LEI database is handled by GLEIF (Global Legal Entity Identifier Foundation), which is a supranational non-profit organization headquartered in Basel. The issuing of LEI numbers, on behalf of GLEIF, is done by accredited LOU (Local Operating Units).
We cooperate with GLEIF accredited LOUs for the issuance, renewal and maintenance of LEI numbers. Our main partner LOU is Ubisecure Oy (RapidLEI), LEI number: 529900T8BM49AURSDO55
Service
1. United LEI processes and disseminates LEI registration applications on behalf of the applicant company or legal entity.United LEI offers registration and maintenance, and any. automatic renewal of LEI numbers on behalf of the applicant company or legal entity.
2. Upon acceptance of the terms and conditions, the applicant business or legal entity accepts that United LEI, on behalf of the applicant business or legal entity, has authorization (power of attorney) to perform the registration and maintenance of LEI numbers with a LEI issuing LOU (Local Operating Unit) . The applicant business or legal entity also accepts that United LEI is authorized to create, maintain, renew and transfer the applicant’s or legal entity’s LEI number to another LOU, if this does not incur costs to the applicant business or legal entity .
3. The applicant confirms they have the full authority to apply for LEI on behalf of the legal Entity. United LEI has the right to ask for a Letter of Authorization that would serve as a proof that the applicant has the right to apply for an LEI on behalf of the legal entity.
4. The applicant is obliged to ensure that the LEI application is unambiguous, ie. that no LEI number has already been applied for to the same entity or company. If the LEI applicant company or legal entity already holds a valid LEI number, the application will be rejected by the respective LOU. In this case, United LEI will reserve the right to continue to charge the fee to cover the costs of processing the application.
5. The applicant is aware and agrees to give all rights to LEI, INC to sign the terms and conditions of the selected LOU. For example the terms of service for RapidLEI can be found from here. The terms of service among LOUs are very similar as they all follow GLEIF’s guidelines.
6. Once the application has been paid United LEI will start registering or renewing the LEI code.
7. The LEI will be forwarded to the customer by e-mail once the process has been completed.
Prices and payments
Registration
The current registration fees can be found under the unitedlei.co.uk website, under the subsection “Prices”. This fee covers initial registration and creation of a LEI number as well as maintenance and changes to the registration for the selected period from 12 to 60 months.
The amount is payable by credit card or bank transfer to United LEI bank connection, the information appears on the invoice that the LEI applicant company or legal entity receives when ordering. The application process will not start until we have registered the payment.
Renewal
The current registration fees can be found under the unitedlei.co.uk website, under the subsection “Prices”. This fee covers initial registration and creation of a LEI number as well as maintenance and changes to the registration for the selected period from 12 to 60 months.
If the LEI registration is not renewed, the LEI number automatically expires after the purchased renewal period has lapsed (12 – 60 months). United LEI will reserve the right to contact the LEI applicant company or legal entity, approx. 2 months before the expiry of the LEI number with a renewal reminder. The contact will be made via the email address provided in connection with the creation.
Responsibilities of the LEI applicant
The LEI applicant company or legal entity guarantees that all information provided to United LEI is accurate and up to date. If incorrect or outdated information is provided, United LEI disclaims all liability for delays in the validation process of the LEI issuing LOU due to missing or incorrect information. Likewise, United LEI disclaims responsibility for costs associated with failure to report changes to the entity or company (corporate actions) that may impact the maintenance of the LEI number.
The LEI applicant company or legal entity accepts that it is obliged to report all relevant changes as soon as possible. Relevant changes are all changes to the information provided to United LEI in connection with the initial LEI application. If the LEI applicant company or legal entity does not report relevant changes on an ongoing basis, United LEI disclaims any responsibility for financial or legal consequences of the failure to report. The LEI applicant company or legal entity is required to update contact information so that United LEI has the opportunity to make contact.
United LEI reserves the right to request additional documentation should any third party register for the LEI applicant business or legal entity.
Responsibility of United LEI
United LEI verifies and validates that information provided by the registrant is adequate for the subsequent processing by the individual LOU. United LEI will contact the registrant if the application is incomplete in order to obtain additional information that can complete the application. United LEI will make reasonable efforts to investigate whether the LEI applicant entity or company has not previously been issued a LEI number. United LEI will contact the registrant no later than 2 months before the expiry of the LEI number if the LEI applicant entity or company.
General terms
Current terms and conditions are subject to change without notice. The applicable terms and conditions can be found under the Terms and Conditions on the company’s website. Significant changes will be communicated to the registered email address provided by the registrant. Under normal circumstances, the LEI applicant entity or company should expect a total processing time of 1 hour to 24 hours from the application is submitted until a valid LEI number can be submitted. The LEI applicant company or legal entity accepts that under special circumstances it may take up to 7 days before the application is finalized and a valid LEI number can be submitted.
Cancellation
To apply for a refund, contact lei@unitedlei.co.uk.
Refunds will be issued within 7 days. Please note it can take up to 30 days for the refund to arrive.
United LEI has the right to charge a refund fee of £30 per refund.
United LEI has the right to deny any refunds if the application has been counted as final.
The refund period as detailed under the GLEIF RA Governance Framework will be honoured appropriately.
Publicly available data
The registrant accepts that information provided to United LEI in connection with the creation of a LEI registration will be disclosed and published on the GLEIF website.
Engagement of third-party service providers, business development and marketing cooperation
9.1. Engagement of third-party service providers
In order to provide you with the best possible user experience and a high quality of services, LEI, INC may in certain cases engage third-party service providers in the provision of its services (i.e. outsourcing). This includes, for example, web hosting, communication services and other functions that are inextricably linked to the provision of LEI, INC’s services.
Third-party service providers may be engaged, for example, in the provision of following functions:
- Website hosting services: to maintain and host our online platform;
- Survey and feedback tools: to collect customer feedback and for market research purposes;
- Payment processing services: to process secure payment transactions;
- Communications services: to manage communication channels for customers such as email and messaging services.
9.2. Access to data by third-party service providers
In order to effectively provide services, third party service providers may require access to certain data that you have provided to us. This data may include company data, usage data and other information necessary for them to perform their services. The data access granted to these third-party service providers is strictly limited to the data necessary to perform their services and is subject to our privacy policy and applicable law.
9.3. Business development and marketing cooperation
In addition to the outsourcing activities described above, LEI, INC may transfer customer contact information (business name, registration code, name of representative and/or other contact person, e-mail address and telephone number) disclosed by the customer to LEI, INC to other service providers for purposes related to business development and marketing cooperation as well as to ensure that customers are informed as effectively as possible about services of potential interest to them.
9.4 Direct communication with customers
In the course of planning and provision of services, situations may arise where the service providers referred to in Clauses 9.1 and 9.3 need to contact the customer directly in order to provide our services effectively or to communicate important information relating to their own services. This direct communication may occur through various channels such as telephone, email or other means of communication. For example, customers may be contacted by platform service providers to introduce services related to their platform.
9.5. Privacy and security
We are committed to maintaining the highest standards of data privacy and security. All third-party service providers are rigorously screened and bound by confidentiality agreements and privacy policies that are consistent with our corporate standards and legal requirements. The partners we engage in the course of business development and marketing cooperation activities are also subject to high data protection standards, which are further detailed in our Privacy Policy as well as the privacy policies of the respective service providers.
9.6. Your informed consent
By using LEI, INC’s services, the customer agrees to the transfer of data disclosed by the customer to our third-party service providers and cooperation partners for the purposes and in the manner described above, subject to the principles, requirements and limitations set out in sections 9.1.-9.5.
Governing Law
Governing law: This agreement and any dispute or claim (including non-contractual disputes or claims) arising out
of or in connection with it or its subject matter or formation shall be governed by and construed in accordance with
the law of England and Wales.
Jurisdiction: Each party irrevocably agrees that the courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction to
settle any dispute or claim (including non-contractual disputes or claims) arising out of or in connection with this
agreement or its subject matter or formation.
